Chuck's and related devices for the Lathe DEC 2020.

Adapter plate made for the four jaw chuck made from a off cut of hollow bar 130 x 80 x 35 mm. that has been in my scrap bin for the last year or so. This will fit a 5" four jaw chuck.

Picture above all holes drilled and tapped , adapter plate fitted to the four jaw chuck , four jaw chuck tested out on the lathe. The chuck runs nice and true and ready to be used wen needed. the short coming on this lathe is that the mounting flange is part of the spindle and for that reason it is awkward to change the chuck , it is held in place by three hex head Allen screws m8 x 20 mm , but it can be done. It would have been easier to if the lathe was fitted with a a 6" chuck this would have given me more room to maneuver.
( The discoloration seen on the chuck is not rust, but is the result of the type of cutting oil used. )
Face plate / pallet and Toe clamps , Jan 2021.

Picture on the left started making a face plate ,or pallet for the lathe from aluminum 140 mm in diameter with a section sticking out 55 mm in diameter and 25 mm long to make it fit easily in the three or four jaw chucks. The thickness of the flange will be 15 mm
Center picture Machined the outside and scribe the surface lines , and it was done using the DRO what a pleasure.
Picture top right all the holes drilled ready to tap M6.

Picture top left all the holes tapped M6 and a lonely hold down clamp that came with the Unimat fitted.
