This specemin of the Leisure 17 was bought on the INTERNET on 13  March 2016  She was standing on the hard in "AKKRUM" , a small town in the province  "FRIESLAND". In the north of the Netherlands. It turned out to be a nice little ship and after painting the bottom with a dark Gray anti fouling she was put in to the water .Then after a single handed struggle to rig the mast (I must change the system ), I was ready to test her under sail on the "SNEEKER MEER". Considering her age and the design of the bilge keel, she performed a great deal better than expected.

On the left, images from the leisure 17 publicity brochure. which is undated. however, this yacht was produced, in two versions between 1967 and 1990. depicted as family cruiser, easily transported on a trailer, and with sleeping accommodation for a family of two adults and two young children. Having lived on mine for a month I would not repeat the experience with a wife and two children.
